Last week I sat down with three other photographers to record a podcast. To be more definite – I sat down with Michael Rammell, Lel Hurst and Neil Graham to record a podcast about the challenges of appealing to your target market for Michaels series of Ready, Steady, Pro podcasts.
Ready Steady pro is a series of resources that Michael Rammell has put together for photographers trying to make the leap into a professional life. They are a series of articles, interviews and round table discussions aimed at the aspirational photographer. The podcast is about finding your target market – covering branding, the resources we use as photographers trying to reach an audience. We also talk about prices, whether we actually turn down clients, for whatever reason (I do, you may be surprised to learn)
We also got sidetracked on screen/print calibration and making sure that our clients get the best albums / wall art.
I could probably write a good deal more on the subject of reaching your target market – it’s a black art and one which you’re never sure if your getting right. (Indeed, the biggest challenge faced by anyone involved in marketing is judging the effectiveness of that marketing). But I think it’s best to have a diverse range of opinions – so the podcast is here
I’ll also give you links to the fabulous Michael Rammell, Lel Hurst and Neil Graham
